Our Services

This is the operative and non-operative treatment of injuries that occur during sporting activities. Dr. Byck has spent years on the field, pitch, snow and ice taking care to athletes from youth hockey to Olympic Gold Medal winners. We treat all athletes with the same interest and care whether you play Football, Ski, Baseball, Soccer, Swim, Snowboard, Pickleball or any other sport.

Many injuries are now treated with arthroscopy: utilizing a small camera and very small incisions to repair the injured tissue. This will decrease risk of infection and is easier to heal. In fact, Dr. Byck was selected as a Master instructor for the Arthroscopy Association of North America Arthroscopy Courses at the Orthopedic Learning Center in Chicago, IL. In 2017, Dr. Byck was selected as the winner of the Stephen J Snyder MD Excellence in Teaching award by AANA.

Of course, many of us have injuries or conditions that are not sports related. We treat these wear and tear conditions with the same care and attention as those with Sports related injuries.

Dr. Xenos treats hip injuries of all kinds and has been a pioneer in hip arthroscopy for many years. As a Total Joint specialist, he is one of the busiest Total Joint surgeons in Southern Denver.

Total Joint Replacements

Total Shoulder Replacements and Reverse Total Shoulder Replacements are performed for those of you who have severe shoulder arthritis and pain. Dr. Byck will utilize the state-of-the-art replacements and preoperative 3-D planning software, ensuring the best possible outcomes.

Total Knee Replacements and Total Hip Replacements are Dr. Xenos’ specialty. He is well known throughout the region for his joint replacement expertise. Dr. Xenos directs the CORI Fellowship where he instructs joint fellows on his techniques and approach to arthritic hips and knees.

All inside ACL reconstruction

An ACL injury, common in sports involving sudden movement, is a knee injury affecting the ligament connecting the femur to the tibia. It can range from a sprain to a complete tear, causing pain, swelling, and instability.

Treatment depends on injury severity, activity level, and the patient’s goals. Non-surgical treatments including physical therapy and a knee brace may suffice for partial tears. However, complete tears, particularly in athletes, often require surgical reconstruction using a graft. Post-surgery, rehabilitation is vital for restoring knee strength and function.

Elbow Arthroscopy

Elbow arthroscopy is a surgical procedure that allows doctors to view the elbow joint without making a large incision. This procedure is used to diagnose and treat a variety of conditions, including tennis and golfer’s elbow, which are common causes of elbow pain and are often the result of repetitive stress on the elbow joint.

Ligament repair and reconstruction in the elbow can be necessary when there is a ligament injury. These injuries often occur due to trauma, overuse, or age-related wear and tear. The goal of ligament repair and reconstruction is to restore the normal function of the elbow.

Tennis elbow, or lateral epicondylitis, is a condition that causes pain on the outer side of the elbow. It often occurs after strenuous overuse of the muscles and tendons of the forearm. Golfer’s elbow is a similar condition, but it causes pain on the inner side of the elbow. Despite their names, these conditions can occur with any repetitive hand or wrist motion, not just with tennis or golf.

Arthroscopic Shoulder Instability Procedures

Rotator cuff tears, shoulder instability or dislocation, and impingement are common shoulder issues. Rotator cuff tears, caused by acute injury or wear and tear, can lead to pain and weakness. Treatment ranges from rest and physical therapy to surgery.

Shoulder instability or dislocation, often due to significant force, results in pain and possible deformity.Initial treatment includes rest, ice, compression, and elevation, followed by physical therapy or possibly surgery.

Shoulder impingement, usually due to repetitive overhead activity or poor posture, causes pain and reduced range of motion. Treatment starts with reducing inflammation and avoiding exacerbating activities, followed by physical therapy, and possibly corticosteroid injections or surgery.

Biologics and Injectables

Biologics and injectables are a category of drugs that include a wide range of products derived from human, animal, or microorganisms by using biotechnology methods. Biologics encompass a variety of products, such as vaccines, blood or blood components, allergenics, tissues, gene therapies, recombinant therapeutic proteins, and living cells used in cell therapy. They can be used for treating a variety of diseases and medical conditions, such as diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, and cancer.

Injectables refer to drugs that are introduced into the body through a needle and syringe. This category includes both biologics and other drugs that can be delivered through injection. Injectable drugs have several advantages over oral medications, including faster onset of action and the ability to deliver drugs that cannot be taken orally.
